$7.70 Lemak Laksa

It has been for quite awhile now that I have wanted to go to this place for a laksa. I've known about it for some time now but have never really had a chance to get their until today and even then it was a specially co-coordinated mission with my always trusty Laksa taster Troggie, it has been a plan of ours for the last few weeks, but due to our ever changing work commitments 3 weeks after the initial date was made we are finally walking up to its doors…

Now this is a very simple place indeed about 12 tables enough chairs to go around and an open kitchen that lets you see exactly what is going on… good start…
Now this place offers both a Lemak and a Assam version of the laksa for today I've gone for the Lemak version… which is the curry based laksa that we know so well I was very tempted to go the Assam which is a fish and sour flavoured laksa but in order to keep a nice consistent start to this place the Lemak Laksa it is… I'll get back to you about the
Assam another time...

So after ordering two Laksa's and a roti we patiently wait….
10 minutes later we are confronted with two steaming hot bowls of deliciously red looking laksa's, Piled with chicken, pork, tofu and noodles. So far so good…..

Now for the tasting, unfortunately this is where I was let down a little, it just didn't come thru like it looked it was just a bit to thin for me personally, I like the sauce and a little more creamier and a bit thicker so that it really sticks to the noodles and I thought it just didn't have the kick that other Laksa's have..
So although it's a bit mild for my liking its still not a bad Laksa….

Rating - 6 / 10
Verdict - Will give it another go but will try the Assam next...
